Innovaculture is a new organization that focuses on pushing the envelope of sustainable agriculture.  We seek to identify, adopt and adapt technologies that produce food with greater efficacy, system-wide sustainability and very high quality.

At present, Innovaculture is closely examining the technical, biological and economic feasibility of producing seafood sustainably, indoors, in Alberta.  We are looking at both shrimp and salmon and are excited by recent developments in the production of each.  There is still work to be done to advance indoor, closed-confinement production technologies, however, we are confident that these technologies will reach their goals within the near future.

The opportunity is clear:  local, fresh, clean, sustainable fish and seafood, produced and eaten all within the same 100 miles.  We at Innovaculture feel as though the current revolution in food production towards local products of the highest integrity is a great movement.  We seek to produce fish and seafood in such a way that there are no environmental impacts from our systems to surrounding ecology.
